Social Media Workshops Now Part of All-Inclusive Rate at Puerto Vallarta’s Casa Velas; Spurred by Mexico’s Velas Resorts Guest Survey

workshops at no charge. The workshops
help guests create a profile, add friends, upload photos and "Like" pages in Facebook; create a Twitter account and profile, follow and Tweet updates; as well as create and upload videos to YouTube. Workshops take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6 to 7 p.m.
"We're delighted to be probably the first resort in Mexico to offer this, and at no charge to our guests," announced Pierre Bonin, Managing Director of Casa Velas.
Casa Velas' social media program is the result of a survey of 300 Velas Resorts guests in Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Rivera Maya, Mexico, responding about their interest in learning more about social media sharing while on vacation. Seventy percent of respondents,ages 18 to 64, expressed a serious interest in social media; the majority desiring to share vacation photos, videos and trip experiences with friends and family on Facebook.
"The plan is to first offer the classes at Casa Velas, rolling out the workshops to all four of our resorts at a later date," said Juan Vela, Vice President of Velas Resorts.
The all-inclusive Casa Velas Hotel Boutique offers rates starting at $240 per person per night, based on double occupancy, from now through December 23, 2010.
