 Meetings organized for foreigners who travel to Puerto Vallarta specifically to participate in conventions in Puerto Vallarta, meetings or events are exempt from paying the 16% value-added tax previously imposed on these types of activities. To take advantage of the exemption, clients and planners must meet certain requirements including paying for services with a credit card issued by a foreign country, providing migratory documents to confirm that attendees reside outside of the country and making arrangements for the hotel and related services through the hotel or organizers of the event.
